The bathroom is one of the most important parts of your home for obvious reasons. Deciding to do some bathroom renovations can turn a potentially dated part of your house into a focal point that adds value in various ways.

While considering how to renovate, you’re sure to have your own goals in mind. For instance, you might want a more environmentally-friendly toilet or space-saving vanities.

Luckily, we’ve got details on four bathroom innovations that could turn your restroom into your favorite room in the house!

A modern, luxurious bathroom after a renovation

Bathrooms are sometimes overlooked when it comes to renovations because homeowners often prioritize their functionality over their appearance. But, investing in certain items can make your bathroom more functional AND better-looking.

Here’s a look at four fresh bathroom innovations.

A toilet that helps the environment, lights your way in the dark, and  smells good

A toilet’s a toilet, right?

Wrong! New innovations in toilet technology are helping the planet, preventing painful accidents in the dark, and keeping bathroom air smelling as fresh as a garden.

As far as considering the environment, waterless composting toilets use evaporation and natural decomposition to recycle waste.

If that doesn’t sound appealing, WaterSense, low-flow, and dual-flush options help you positively impact the environment without relying on natural decomposition.

You can even invest in a space-saving, two-in-one toilet and sink combo if you have limited space in your washroom.

No matter what type of toilet you select for your bathroom renovation, adding GlowBowl Fresh takes your throne to the next level. This device simply attaches to the side of your toilet and lights it up automatically with a glow-in-the-dark light at night that uses motion detection technology, so you never miss the mark.

GlowBowl Fresh also has a built-in air freshener that offers months of odor elimination for a much more pleasant bathroom experience.

Space-saving floating vanities

Every bathroom needs a vanity that holds a sink and offers storage. Past options have been pretty limited, but floating vanities are changing that by delivering a modern approach and appearance.

Essentially, a floating vanity is a sink, faucet, and storage that hangs on the wall instead of a bulky cabinet that’s installed on the floor.

Floating vanities take up less space while providing a similar level of functionality as traditional vanities. The result is a much more modern-looking bathroom that feels larger.

Another advantage is that you won’t have to worry about the bottom of your vanity getting wet or dirty, and your floors will be easier to clean because there won’t be nooks and crannies to sweep and mop around.

Overall, floating vanities are worth looking into if you’re short on space and want to modernize your bathroom.

Eco-friendly showers that provide a different experience

There are many shower innovations on the market today.

For instance, mist showers are a great option because they use less water. They utilize mist and steam to provide a comfortable experience while cutting water usage by 66%.

Another option is a fog shower, which only uses two liters of water every five minutes. These showers heat water vapor and spray it directly onto your body, saving you money every month and keeping you clean.

One thing that’s for sure is that these showers will become a conversation piece whenever you have guests at your home because of how unique and innovative they’ll make your bathroom look.

Innovate your medicine cabinet

Medicine cabinets have always been more about function than appearance, but that’s changing with the latest pieces to hit the market!

New designs have adjustable shelves and lower profiles than the ones you probably have in your home, creating a sleek, stylish appearance in a cupboard that can hold larger items.

Some medicine cabinets have built-in lights with touch controls and outlets for your devices, too, making these pieces functional and worth considering for any bathroom renovation plan.

Building the perfect bathroom

You can do a lot to upgrade your bathroom and it doesn’t have to be expensive, either. Investing in some of these innovative products can make your bathroom fresher, healthier, and better for the planet.

Turning your toilet into a bidet is inexpensive, but washes and dries you by remote you can set up with your preferences eg temp of water to wash and different angles for nozzles etc.
