Some people love holiday shopping and others find it to be a drag. The stores this time of year are filled with beautiful holiday cheer…but they also tend to be very busy, making for lengthy outings.

So, what can you do to avoid long lines, overpriced items, and grumpy mall Santas off duty? We’ve got six tips to make this holiday shopping season a breeze – check ‘em out below!

1. Make a shopping list (and check it twice!)

First and foremost, it’s a good idea to make a shopping list that you can follow while you’re out and about. Having a predetermined list makes it easier to hit the stores you need to visit while avoiding the ones you don’t.

A list will save you money because you won’t find yourself getting off track by shiny things. It will also speed up your trip. Your list can be a living document that you update frequently throughout the season as you come across new items that you’d like to get your family, friends, and yourself.

2. Scan the deals

It can be tempting to head out and do all your holiday shopping at once, but waiting for the right deals to come along can save you lots of money. Some prices won’t move much, while others drop the closer you get to the big day. It’s also worth noting that the earlier you begin your holiday shopping, the more time you’ll have to hold out and wait for the right deals to come along.

3. Create a gift bundle

If you want to get a few people the same cool gadget, consider making a bundle purchase. That way, you save money on multiple purchases.

We are offering a “Buy 3 get 2” gift bundle offer on The Wand, which is an absolute must-have for any wine drinker in your life. This amazing little gadget takes care of wine headaches, hangovers, and other nasty side effects by removing the sulfites and histamines in wine. If you’re putting wine baskets together for friends and family or want to fill some stockings, throw The Wand in for a delightful surprise.

4. Shop online

If heading out to a busy mall or big-box store during the holidays sounds like a nightmare, you can always go the online shopping route! Many holiday shoppers prefer this method because they can pick out exactly what they want with no crowds, lines, or frazzled retail employees.

Make sure you start shopping early to avoid shipping delays. That aside, online shopping is tough to beat for pure convenience.

5. Plan for a long day

On the other hand, if you’ll be venturing out to stores on a weekend in the middle of December, you should know that your excursion could take a while. Be prepared to fight crowds and stand in line as you search for the perfect presents for your loved ones.

One great tip is to dress comfortably. While it might seem like a good idea to wear your warmest coat and winter boots because it’s cold outside, think about how you’ll feel after spending two hours in a climate-controlled building. Dressing in layers gives you all sorts of flexibility and can ensure you don’t overheat as your shopping trip wears on.

Taking care of your feet while you shop is also essential because nothing can ruin your day faster than sore arches. Soul Insole is a patented, award-winning shoe insert that instantly relieves pressure from your heel and forefoot – providing soothing relief to your feet, legs, and back in minutes. Get ready to shop pain-free!

6. Stay safe

Whether you’re heading to the mall or shopping online, your safety is paramount. Holiday shopping isn’t worth risking your safety.

Hootie is a keychain-sized personal safety alarm that sends attackers running with an ultra-loud 130db siren. That’s as loud as a jet engine! It’s small and portable, so you can take it anywhere, and it’s built to last. It’s also easy to use – All you have to do is pull the cap and the device emits the loud siren and a strobe light that is sure to scare off any threat.

If you’ll be in parking garages late at night while shopping, Hootie is a must-have. It makes an excellent gift idea, too, if you’re looking for something for the women in your life.

Happy shopping!

It doesn’t matter if you love holiday shopping or dread it every year, using these tips can make your days online or at the mall more enjoyable and less stressful.

I take my gift list and shop when I travel. Presents obtained in another country are often less expensive and more unique. They always make the recipient feel special because they know I was thinking about them while abroad.
